CAUSE II Improve Safe Access at Gizo Community High School

A NEW drain crossing at Gizo Community High School is being constructed under the CAUSE II Project to provide safer access for students, staff and nearby residential communities.

The 20-day sub-project is being delivered by a community contracting group of eight members, supporting local participation while improving access around the school.

The completed crossing will directly benefit students and staff of Gizo Community High School and the nearby primary school, while also providing improved access for an estimated 345 households in the Tophill, TC and Babylon residential areas. The crossing will also serve as an access ramp when delivering school logistics to the nearby storage facility.

The sub-project is part of CAUSE II’s ongoing investment in small-scale, community-focused infrastructure that improves everyday access and safety for communities across Solomon Islands.

Implemented by the Solomon Islands Government, the CAUSE II Project is supported by the World Bank and the Australian Government through the PNG and Pacific Islands Umbrella Facility Multi-Donor Trust Fund.
