📢 Kolale Drainage Works Progressing Well

Work is progressing steadily on the Kolale drainage upgrade under CAUSE II – Component 2: Safe and Inclusive Communities.

The new reinforced drainage channel will improve water flow, reduce flooding during heavy rainfall, and protect nearby homes and footpaths from erosion. These upgrades are part of CAUSE II’s commitment to building practical, climate-resilient infrastructure that directly benefits local communities.
Beyond infrastructure improvements, the works are also generating short-term employment opportunities for local residents — including youth — contributing to economic inclusion while improving public safety.

CAUSE II is funded by the World Bank and co-financed by the Australian Government, and is implemented by the Honiara City Council and the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in partnership with key government ministries, provincial governments and communities.
